| | George Hinkle of Northport is one of the
best bass fishermen in our Club. George has caught 70 bass weighing over five
pounds in the past three years. I had to beg George for these photos. Like most
dedicated fishermen, George is a little tightlipped about his
fishing.
"Mr. Wilson, you have got to do more to protect the big bass.
People need to release all big bass. The only way we can continue to have good
bass fishing is for people to put the big bass back in the water," remarked
George to me at our last meeting.

George is a strict "catch and release fisherman." Every bass in these photos
was returned to the water.

| Several months ago, I watched
big bass feed on schools of shad in my favorite Bar-D lake. We saw seven to
nine pound bass smash into shad all day long but we could not get them to hit
any lure...not one fish. The bass in that lake are "college educated," moaned
George. |

| George occassionally brings friends to the
lakes and they usually catch big bass. Bobby Knowles (above) and Wayne Puckett
both did well while fishing with George.
